Volunteer Opportunity: Research Assistant for Kidney-CAP Study!
We are looking for a Research Assistant to help recruit survey participants at the Kidney Care Centre in Westmount Mall (London, Ontario).
Your role will be to approach and engage 40-60 individuals who have chronic kidney disease but are not yet on dialysis, inviting them to participate in our survey. You can conduct this outreach any day of the week, mornings or evenings, based on your availability.
Background In collaboration with renal physicians from major Canadian nephrology programs, Glia has created the Kidney-CAP—the first of its kind in the world. The Kidney-CAP is a 3D-printed, open-source, low-cost, compact, and effective device designed to help hemodialysis patients manage unexpected and uncontrolled bleeding (hemorrhage) at the fistula site in their arm. By “capping” the bleeding, the Kidney-CAP provides patients crucial time to call for medical assistance, potentially avoiding a life-threatening emergency.
Your Impact As a Research Assistant, you will:
- Identify and approach potential participants who have chronic kidney disease but are not yet on dialysis.
- Explain the purpose of the Kidney-CAP study and encourage participation in our survey.
- Gather valuable data that will inform the continued development and optimization of the Kidney-CAP.
This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in healthcare research, patient engagement, or community outreach. Your work will contribute directly to improving the future of dialysis patient care.

Complete the following form and a Glia team member will contact you.
